Description: Sewn section buff. Whether you're a professional or a DIY, our 14” 50 ply sewn polishing wheel is an excellent choice. It is easy to use, provides consistent results, and significantly reduces the time and effort needed for buffing tasks. Made of high density 86/80 cotton, this sewn polishing wheel comes pre-raked ready for initial use and is a good choice color buffing. Can also be used withtripoli compoundsfor light to moderate cut down operations.
About: Sewn section buffs are firmer and not as flexible as a loose buffs. It is generally sewn in the form of a spiral from the center to the edge of the buff. The distance sewn between each row can be 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", or 3/4". Quarter inch being the most common.
Construction: Made of 60/60 untreated cotton. Can also be made from 86/80, 68/72, and 80/80 in both mill treated and untreated cloth . Available sewing types are Concentric, Straight Spoke, Radial Arc, and others. Sewn Canton flannel buffs are only available in concentric stitch.
Typical Application: For buffing or coloring various articles made from metal, hard rubber, plastics, etc. where increased rigidity is needed over loose buffs.
Sizes: 2" to 18" diameter with standard sections being 20ply. These sections are approximately 1/4" thick and can be ganged together on the arbor shaft to achieve the desired overall face width.
Precautions: Safe operation requires the use of end washers. Wear appropriate safety clothing, respiratory, and eye protection during use. Do not exceed maximum specified RPM.
